Interior Designer
Profile
“As Architects and Designers, we had a vision of a place where the creative energy was part of the retail experience. We design where you shop and find our inspiration from Sweden, Belgium, Italy, France and the vintage industrial workplace.”
As owners of one of the top design stores in Los Angeles, Giannetti Home, Brooke and Steve Giannetti have been the focus of numerous national magazine features. Their designs appeared in over 20 publications in the past few years, gracing the pages of publications like Veranda, Coastal Living, California Homes, and the New York Times.
Brooke is the designer and the creator of the incredibly popular “Velvet & Linen” blog, which appeared on a list of the Washington Postʼs top ten blogs. Brookeʼs look has been described as “a laid back take on sophisticated, antique-Swedish fueled interiors.” It evokes positive emotions and nostalgia. Brooke says, “My style is a combination of Belgian, French and Swedish with a little industrial thrown in.”
Brooke Giannettiʼs designs express her desire to touch the emotions. Her interiors incorporate her love of antiques, beautiful fabrics, and classic design infused with a bit of whimsy. She works with her clients to find a unique design vocabulary for each project that will reflect the clientʼs own personality mixed with Brookeʼs unique design sensibilities.
French and Swedish antiques frequently inspire her rooms, but with three children, her family life helps her understand the demanding and sometimes hectic lives of her clients. Her familyʼs homes have been nationally published and serve as a canvas for her to explore her design ideas. She frequently collaborates on Architectural projects with husband Steve Giannetti providing clients with full Architectural, Interior Design and Landscape services.
Steve, on the other hand, is one of the most sought after architects in California. The son of a master of ornamental plaster worker, Steve grew up in the studio before pursuing his career. Describing his architectural work, one writer has said, “Steveʼs inspirations are from the classical tradition in architecture, yet he is putting an exciting new modern framework on these classical designs, which makes them suitable for life in the 21st century.” Steve has collaborated with some of the worldʼs top interior designers on many of his projects.
Steve Giannetti graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Maryland in 1982. He founded the office of Giannetti Architects in 1987 with a commitment to excellence in design. His reputation for high quality architectural design in addition to a respect for the ownerʼs input has yielded Giannetti a loyal clientele and his creative approach to commissions of any scale has created an impressive portfolio of projects.
Giannetti Home opened its doors in August of 2008 and has become one of the most beloved stores in West Los Angeles. Located on San Vicente Blvd in Brentwood, Giannetti Homeʼs is filled with a unique combination of antiques, custom designed upholstery, vintage architectural elements, books, accessories, as well as Steveʼs own artwork. Giannetti Home has become the go to destination for homeowners and interior designers.
“As Architects and Designers, we had a vision of a place where the creative energy was part of the retail experience. We design where you shop and find our inspiration from Sweden, Belgium, Italy, France and the vintage industrial workplace. We love objects that feel real and simple and show the patina of age; wood in its natural state, the rusted finish of old machinery, gilding that is a bit past its prime and the faded leather of timeworn books. We built Giannetti Home to bring all of the things we love together and to provide a window into our design philosophy.”

Brookeʼs blog, “Velvet and Linen” caters to design savvy readers with a passion for interiors and architecture. Despite wide success, Brooke and Steve maintain a grounded sensibility, and one of the siteʼs more popular features allows Velvet and Linenʼs readers to get the Giannetti look at an affordable price. Just one year old, Giannetti Home Design Online attracts dozens of clients across the United States, Canada and even as far away as Australia.
Bringing their aesthetic to print, Brooke and Steveʼs first book, Patina Style, was published by Gibbs Smith in August 2011 to rave reviews, selling out its first printing in three weeks.

A combination of both. You need a groomed structure filled with a planted chaos.
